FIX is now the industry standard protocol being adopted by majority of the participants in the Securities Industry. FIX is being increasingly used for Order Management Systems, Proprietary Trading Systems and Stock Exchange trading systems. New FIX based standards are evolving to address issues like direct access systems, data dissemination and straight through processing. This has opened a new arena of business opportunities for the technology vendors.
