THOMAS RUNGE
Executive Director and Chief Production Officer

As Head of Global Production and member of the Xchanging Management Board (XMB), Thomas Runge is responsible for driving the lean processor strategy for Xchanging. Thomas Runge has more than 15 years’ experience in processing services, project management and IT with Salomon Bros, Citibank, Deutsche Bank and Xchanging.

Thomas started his career at Deutsche Bank AG in Frankfurt. He joined Salomon Brothers afterwards, where he held various positions in operations and IT management. Thomas managed the integration of Salomon Brothers into Citigroup for operations and IT in Germany and other parts of Europe. Thomas Runge continued to work as the Head of Citibank’s German securities operations before he joined European Transaction bank (a Deutsche Bank subsidiary) as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Through his career, Thomas was responsible for managing various large scale projects, such as the introduction of the Euro, the Xchanging re-alignment programme with Deutsche Bank, the migration of Citibank’s German retail processing to Xchanging (winning the German project management award) and the introduction of the new German withholding tax regime. Thomas holds a master degree in macro economics.
